Physical Description: Hojo is tall, thin, and pale to the point of looking sickly, something that's only magnified by his sharp features. His hands are bony, his wrists slender, and his face long and pointed, though the round glasses that perch in front of his eyes offset this and make him look vaguely owlish. His hair is an oily black and more often than not is pulled back into a low tail that falls to just below his shoulderblades.

Personality: Hojo is extremely intelligent, and it shows in his dealings with other people. He tends to babble on about things he has even a remote bit of knowledge on, and even if he isn't an expert he's quite good at making it sound like he is. When he's not attempting to impress his current audience with his intelligence, he tends to fade into the background, observing his surroundings quietly if he's even paying attention to them at all. He's quite bookish, and is just as likely to be found reading something in an out-of-the-way corner as he is attempting to be the center of attention.

Strengths: Intelligence is undoubtedly Hojo's strongest feature, and the one he takes the most pride in. He's also very quick on his feet, something that's almost a necessity for someone living in the slums most of his life.

Weaknesses: Physically, Hojo is completely unformidable. He may be a fast runner, but if you catch him he can't put up much of a fight. Also, his elitist attitude tends to make him more enemies than friends. Hojo is also rather prone to sickness, moreso than most.

History: Hojo grew up in the western section of Azhun, smack in the middle of the slums. He was fortunate enough to be an only child, which made things a bit more manageable though in the slums nothing was ever really easy. He learned very early on that he would have trouble managing with no physical prowess to speak of, at least in the western part of town, so the most natural thing to do, he reasoned, was get out as soon as possible.

This was far easier said than done.

Too poor to actually enroll in a university, Hojo simply started attending the classes when he was around eighteen, sneaking into the lectures that had more than enough students to hide the appearance of one more. This he kept up until he had saved up enough money to petition the school for credit for the classes he'd attended.

He kept this up all through his college career(which lasted far longer than the typical four years, due to the need to cheat the system in order to do it at all) and eventually managed to worm his way into graduate school, where he earned a PhD in biology with startling speed.

Unfortunately, work is scarce for a young doctor in the slums, and he's still having a bit of trouble getting the connections he needs to work his way up the social ladder.
